Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StoryAnimator (“StoryAnimator”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use storyanimator.app and related services (the “Service”). StoryAnimator turns a voiceover into an illustrated story video.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and authentication identifiers through our authentication provider (Supabase). If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile (name, email) from Google to create your account.

Payment information

Purchases of credits are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers. We keep records of your purchases, credit balance, and transaction history.

Content you provide

To use the Service you upload or record voiceover audio and we generate transcripts, prompts, and images from it. This “Content” is processed to deliver the Service (see “How your content is processed” below).

Usage & device data

We process basic technical information needed to operate the Service (e.g. request logs, credit usage, errors). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Information stored in your browser

We store your sign-in session and your active working project (transcript, images, clips, audio) locally in your own browser using local storage and IndexedDB so they persist across refreshes.

Project history

If you are signed in, we save your generated projects so you can re-open them later from the History page. For each project we store its images, animated clips, a thumbnail, and project details (name, shot count, duration, format, and the prompts/captions used) on our infrastructure — project records in our database (Supabase) and media files in object storage (Cloudflare R2), served back to you over short-lived signed links. You can delete any project from the History page at any time, which removes its stored media and record.

2. How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service (transcribe audio, generate images, compose videos).
• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To process payments and manage your credit balance.
• To respond to support requests and send service-related messages (e.g. account confirmation, password reset).
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How your content is processed (AI providers)

StoryAnimator relies on third-party AI providers to perform the core work. When you use the Service, your audio, transcripts, and prompts are transmitted to one or more of these providers so they can transcribe, generate, or process it on our behalf:

• Transcription: Deepgram, OpenAI, and/or Google (Gemini).
• Text / prompt generation: third-party large language model providers (including Google Gemini).
• Image generation: Atlas Cloud (Google “Nano Banana” models) and/or other configured image providers.

Your Content is handled under those providers’ own terms and privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them. We only send what is necessary to perform the function you requested.

4. Service providers (subprocessors)

We use the following providers to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication and database (accounts, credit records, project history).
• Cloudflare (R2) — object storage for your saved project media (images, clips, thumbnails).
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Render — application hosting.
• Google — optional “Sign in with Google”.
• The AI providers listed in Section 3.

5. Storage & retention

Uploaded audio and files used to fulfil a request are processed transiently on our servers and automatically deleted shortly afterward (typically within a few hours). If you are signed in, your saved project history (images, clips, thumbnails, and project details) is retained in our storage (Supabase + Cloudflare R2) until you delete the project or your account, so you can re-open it later. Account and billing records are retained while your account is active and as required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use cookies / local storage only as needed to keep you signed in and to store your work in your browser. We do not use them for advertising.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers above to operate the Service, when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the EEA/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), those laws may give you additional rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To exercise any right, contact us at support@storyanimator.app. You can delete saved projects anytime from the History page, and clear locally-stored work by clearing your browser data.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the providers listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
