Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StoryAnimator (“StoryAnimator”, “we”, “us”) at storyanimator.app and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. The Service

StoryAnimator converts a voiceover you provide into a transcript and a set of AI-generated images, and can compose them into a video. The Service relies on third-party AI providers (see our Privacy Policy) to perform transcription, text, and image generation.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Credits, payments & refunds

• The Service uses credits. New accounts may receive a limited number of free trial credits; additional credits are purchased through our payment processor (Stripe).
• Credits grant a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service’s paid features and have no cash value.
• Except where required by applicable law, purchases and credits are non-refundable, including for outputs you are unsatisfied with.
• We may change pricing, credit costs, or the free allowance at any time; changes apply going forward.

5. Your content & license

You retain ownership of the audio and other materials you upload (“Your Content”). You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to Your Content and that it does not infringe any third party’s rights or violate any law. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and transmit Your Content (including to the AI providers) solely to operate and provide the Service to you.

6. AI-generated output

• Outputs (transcripts, images, videos) are generated by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or similar to outputs provided to others. They are not guaranteed to be unique or error-free.
• You are responsible for reviewing outputs and for how you use them, including ensuring your use does not infringe others’ rights or violate any law.
• Rights in outputs are subject to the terms of the underlying AI providers. We make no warranty regarding ownership or usability of outputs.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) upload or generate content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, or that violates others’ privacy or IP rights; (b) upload personal data of others without authority; (c) attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent the Service, its credit system, or security; (d) resell or redistribute the Service without permission; or (e) use the Service in violation of any law or the AI providers’ policies.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or the Service except the limited right to use it as permitted here.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates third-party services (e.g. Supabase, Stripe, Render, and AI providers). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYANIMATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryAnimator from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your outputs, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or others. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [your country/state], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
